Hello and welcome to my runDisney Princess Half Marathon Weekend 2025 trip report! I’m returning to the blow-by-blow diary format for this trip. Today we enjoy one last go-round at the Festival of the Arts in Epcot. Read all the posts in this report here. Onward!
Our final Disney morning dawned – not that you’d be able to tell. A considerable rainstorm had rolled in during the night, and the scene outside consisted of so much gray.
Given that we hadn’t planned to hustle in the first place, the conditions didn’t encourage hurry. We puttered about our cabin, performing last minute packing activities and slowly preparing for the day. Perhaps by the time we were ready to go the weather would have cleared?
OH, I’M JUST A LITTLE BLACK RAIN CLOUD
No such luck – the rain continued unabated, and while it at least wasn’t stormy it wasn’t the sort of rain you could shrug off either. In a rare example of choosing function over form in my Disney dressing, I donned a ball cap and a very chic trash bag.
Erika had confirmed earlier that Fort Wilderness Cast Members were able to collect our luggage upon request, and we didn’t even have to wait for them – we just left it in the cabin to await storage. We headed out to our golf cart… and headed right back inside to grab some towels, because the seats were sopping wet.
Having laid down some butt protection, we drove off to the Outpost to relinquish Strawberry Shortcake the golf cart back to the resort. Unfortunately the rain severely loosened the tape holding her signs on, and we lost a couple on the way; by the time we arrived she was Berry Short. Just like our time together, alas.
EPCOT OR BUST
Tragically it was also time to bid farewell to Erika, who was heading home that afternoon. She hopped a bus to the Settlement to hang out for a bit as Becky and I boarded our chariot to Epcot. We had more Festival of the Arts to explore.
It was raining hard enough to put a stop to a lot of the outdoor activities, which was a real bummer on the last day of the festival. The Encanto show was cancelled, the roaming performers were nowhere to be found, and just forget about the chalk artists. Look upon this unfinished mural, ye mighty, and despair.

Instead we set up shop inside the Odyssey building, where in addition to a Festival food booth there was a whole section of tables and chairs. One or the other of us periodically ducked out into the wet, scurrying back to our table with the spoils of the hunt.
BROADWAY BABIES
We finished up snacking round one, but alas, it was still raining. Surveying our options, we ducked into the Broadway exhibit that was presently gracing Communicore Hall. Inside you could see a myriad of props and costumes from shows like The Lion King, Aladdin, Frozen, and Mary Poppins. I’ve seen The Lion King on Broadway; the opening scene KILLSSSSS me. So good. Gotta see Aladdin one of these days! Anyone up for an NYC field trip?

There was a photo op with baby Simba that I include here mostly because, y’know, we took the photo, but also so you can cop my trash bag couture. So hot right now.
The rain started to slack a bit, at least enough to venture out, and we stopped at one or two Festival of the Arts food booths before taking a right into World Showcase. This, as you may know, is the wrong direction to travel around the lagoon, but we were specifically headed to Canada. Neither of us had seen the “new” (not so new anymore really) Canada movie in awhile. I quite like Eugene Levy and I love Catherine O’Hara (Sally!!!), but I do wish the script had allowed them to show their personalities a bit more.
NO TRASH BAGS ALLOWED IN INTERSTELLAR JUMPPOINTS
Rather than risk another pointless early wakeup call, Becky and I had elected to skip the final morning of Cosmic Rewind and instead threw a little money at an Individual Lightning Lane. Our time came around, and we scooted over there to try and get a good song.
“You have to take the trash bag off,” the Cast Member who sorted us in the car line said. “It makes you too slippery.” I mean, if accidentally flinging myself into the void of a Disney show building is how I go, then that’s how I go, but I can see how that might be traumatizing for the children. I followed instructions and stuck my trash bag in my pocket. Something told me I would want it for something later.
This go-round we enjoyed the musical stylings of Gloria Estefan and the Miami Sound Machine in their timeless hit “Conga.” This ranks #4 in my personal favorites list but it’s above the “but why???” line so I’ll take it!
DUCK TALES! WOO-OO!
After a fruitless search of the Cosmic Rewind gift shop for good new merch, we headed back toward World Showcase. I had enjoyed our Japanese DuckTales World Showcase Adventure to such a degree that I requested another spin. We selected the UK edition expressly because Becky said there was a bit that required giving a Cast Member a code word. Sounds fun!
Only they’ve removed that bit. No more CM involvement. Ah well; it was pretty fun all the same. We broke some stuff, but we did it! I do love David Tennant as Scrooge.
By now it was late afternoon, and we busied ourselves bopping around some festival food booths before heading over to the American Adventure to scope out the line for the Broadway concert series finale.
EPCOT GIVES ITS REGARDS TO BROADWAY
The Broadway concert series is an ongoing part of the Epcot Festival of the Arts. On the last day of the festival, however, they plus the show with twice the performers and a special program. We checked about an hour in advance and people were already lined up back to the gondola bridges of the Italy pavilion. Eek! We hopped in line immediately.
We were ultimately rewarded with a solid seat in the first row of the back section, behind the walkway in the middle of the theater. Admittedly some of the pillars were in our way, and there were cameramen swirling around the area the whole time, but that’s okay. Maybe it’ll end up on Disney+ and I can say I was there?
Regardless, Broadway stars from Aladdin (Genie!), The Lion King (Nala!), Frozen (uh, Kristoff? Now I don’t remember) and Newsies (why did they even add Katherine?) regaled us with a retrospective of Disney’s Broadway shows, with a snippet of song(s) from all of them. It was a little under-rehearsed, which is understandable given the circumstances, but the talent on display was undeniable. For a free (“free” read as “included”) concert, I was satisfied.
I used my trash bag to keep my butt dry on the wet bench. I knew I would need it for something.
FAREWELL TO EPCOT, WORLD SHOWCASE & THE WORLD
We made a quick pit stop at one or two final festival food booths before moseying on out of Epcot. Tragically we just missed the Fort Wilderness bus; comically another one came along pretty quickly. You never can tell with bees or Disney bus service.
Under normal circumstances I would’ve been headed to the airport. Under these circumstances, we were in fact headed for Universal Studios and a couple extra days of fun! We rustled up our bags from bell services, called an Uber, and headed over to Cabana Bay to meet up with Kristin of last year fame.
You read that right – this is gonna turn into a Universal trip report in our next installment! But not right away. I still have one or two wrap up items for the Disney portion of the program. We’ve got festival snack reviews and a Fort Wilderness deep dive still to come. Don’t miss it!
