It’s Walt Disney World time again and let me tell you: it. NEVER. Gets. Old. Never. Wine & Dine race weekend ahoy!
Once again, I approach this trip with some mild trepidation, as my right ankle has been acting up a bit. With a 10K and a half on the horizon, I’ll need to take it easy. But I’m confident the Disney magic will pull me through!
I’m splitting a room with awesome friends, I have two races on the docket, we’re currently scheduled to go to Oga’s Cantina twice AND get sushi in Epcot, sooooo… yeah. I’d say I’m cautiously optimistic.
The only thing I would appreciate you all crossing your fingers about for me is that I don’t get sick. I can’t get sick, because if I do I can’t go on my fast-approaching trip with my nieces. If you see me wearing an N95 mask in the parks, that’s not a throwback – it’s for a purpose.
Other than evading germs and viruses, I’m keeping it pretty loosey-goosey re: trip goals, but I do have some sketched-in ambitions…
MY DISNEY TO-DO LIST
– Take fun race photos!
– Get some cake for post-race celebrations from Gideon’s Bakehouse
– Figment meet ‘n greet! Figment meet ‘n greet! I’ve been waiting for this moment for years and am prepared to wait in a medium-to-hefty line for it as needed
– Experience the catharsis of another Frozen singalong show
– Avail myself of the offerings at the Epcot Food & Wine Festival
And I think that’s largely it, really! The more you go, the more modest your desires become, I think. Just a good time with good friends, good races, and good food’ll do me. I can’t wait!
P.S. Don’t forget to follow me on Insta – my race costume flat lays alone are worth the price of admission (free).
Don’t forget, you can follow FRoA on Twitter @fairestrunofall and on Instagram @fairestrunofall. If you have any questions or thoughts, leave a comment or email fairestrunofall@gmail.com. See ya real soon!
I have a feeling we will definitely achieve all of these things!
And we did!!!
