Hello, humans! I hope you don’t mind if we take a brief moment to talk a bit of blog shop. Since Fairest Run Of All transitioned from Blogger to WordPress last month, there have been a LOT of changes. Some you almost certainly noticed (especially the part where it was down for a week and a half 🤪), some you probably didn’t. In either case, let me bring you up to speed.
A lot of FROA ported over to the new platform without a hitch – and a lot of it didn’t. Yay! Some notable hiccups included broken links, weirdly aligned photos, and incorrectly formatted text. The fun part was, SOME links were broken, SOME photos were weirdly aligned, and SOME text was incorrectly formatted. So basically what I’ve had to do is comb through all 1,000+ posts on this site and correct all the errors I could find.
The primarily good news is, by the time you read this, I’ll be pretty much done! I invite you to sort merrily through the archives secure in the knowledge that you can click and scroll without becoming mired in error messages and incomprehensible content. Do it! It’s fun!
Now that I’ve got you all comfortable, let me hit you with two pieces of bad news.
Firstly, if I may borrow from George Washington: “I am too sensible of my defects not to think it probable that I may have committed many errors.” (He really said that, kids; it’s not just Hamilton apocrypha.) With that in mind, I’m sure I’ve missed some things.
The second bit of minor bad news is that for some reason my photos ported over in a shrunken size, with none of the links to the expanded versions included. I’m going to be tackling this slowly over the coming months, but fixing it is gonna take awhile.
With both of those items in mind, I encourage you – nay, I would DEEPLY APPRECIATE IT if you – would let me know any time you come across a mistake. Whether it’s a broken link, an image you really want to see bigger NOW, a redirect that’s working but taking too darn long, or anything else entirely, please tell me.
